Lebanon Kiwanis Supports Backpack Attack -  7/1/2010
LEBANON — This year we have joined again with the Boone County United Way Backpack Attack to expand our school supply drive.  Backpacks and basic school supplies will be distributed at The Caring Center on Saturday, July 31, 2010. “We expect to distribute more than 500 backpacks filled with supplies this year,” said Jill Troha, Backpack Attack volunteer.  "Like with other local programs, we have also seen an increase in need this year(more)


19th Annual Go-Kart Race -  7/1/2010
The 19th annual Lebanon Kiwanis Go-Kart race will be held July 31 & August 1 at Lebanon High School.  Over sixty racers of all ages from the Indy Cart Racing Circuit will enjoy two days of racing.

Thirty-two local celebrities are expected to take to the course early Saturday morning for the 3rd annual Celebrity  Race.  Our own Jeremy Lamar took the checkered flag last year and we're expecting him to do it again!  Celebrity driver spots are still

The Eliminate Project -  7/1/2010

Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to save the lives of babies and their mothers by eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus (MNT), a disease that kills an estimated 60,000 newborns and 30,000 mothers each year. UNICEF Ambassador and actor Tea Leoni delivered the announcement at the 95th Annual Kiwanis International Convention.

Lebanon Kiwanis Installs Officers -  10/5/2009
Lebanon Kiwanis recently installed its new officers for the 2009-2010 club year. They are as follows:  Debbie Ottinger, President; Jim Hundley, President-Elect; Donna Boyland, Vice President; Amy Hammerle, Secretary and Elmer Gilber, Treasurer.  Newly installed board members include Craig Parks and Matt Drury.

The Lebanon Kiwanis Club will present the Connie Lamar Memorial Youth Service Award at the Boone County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Civic Banquet on Nov. 9, 2009. Connie Lamar was a devoted wife, mother and public servant. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Lebanon Kiwanis Club and deeply believed in the club’s mission of serving the children of Lebanon and the world. Kiwanis Go-Kart Race Raises over $18,000 -  7/24/2009
The 18th annual Lebanon Kiwanis Go-Kart race was held July 18 & 19 at Lebanon High School.  Over sixty racers of all ages from the Indy Cart Racing Circuit enjoyed two days of racing under a beautiful blue sky.

Lebanon Kiwanis Hosts Successful Indy Racing Go-Kart Race -  7/17/2008
Lebanon Kiwanis hosted it's annual go-kart race July 12-13 at the Lebanon High School.  Eighty-eight drivers raced to victory and helped raise money for the various service projects sponsored by the club.

Annual Pancake Supper Returns April 17 -  4/9/2008
The 54th annual Lebanon Kiwanis Pancake Supper will occur from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Boone County 4-H Community Building, 1300 E. County Road 100 South, Lebanon.

Tickets cost $6 per person. Children preschool age and younger eat for free. This year, $1 from each ticket will help to defray medical expenses for a local youth living with scleroderma, a rare connective tissue disorder. All other proceeds benefit local youth programs and services.

2007-2008 CLUB OFFICERS INSTALLED
Past Sagamore Division Lt. Governor David Rose recently installed the officers for the 2007-2008 Kiwanis Year.  They are Elmer Parks, President; Mike Martin, President Elect; Debbie Ottinger, Vice President; Elmer Gilbert, Treasurer; and Sue Ritz, Secretary.  Newly elected board members are Jim Hundley, Dona Boyland and Roger Swinney.

The Lebanon Kiwanis Club presented awards for the Distinguished Citizen of the Year and Connie Lamar Memorial Youth awards at the Boone Co. Chamber of Commerce banquet. 
 
Raymond Ingham, Ph.D. of Witham Hospital received the Distinguished Citizen of the Year award for his dedication to improving the quality of life for Boone County residents.  Dr. Ingham is also very involved in the community by his service to the Lebanon Rotary Club, the Community Vision Committee

Lebanon Kiwanis Club Sponsors Back Pack Buddies
 
The Back Pack Buddies program helps children enrolled in the Project Reach Out Preschool by providing nutritious food items every Friday.  The children take home back packs full of nutritious snacks and kid-friendly meals to ensure they receive adequate nutrition on the weekends.   Community supporters of the program include the Boone County Mental Health Association and Trinity Lutheran Church.
